How It All Started
Rewind to ’99. In the dawn of boy band clones, getting a haircut was always the same song and dance. Until three brothers came together to create one disruptive figurative record scratch. Lost in a maze of cookie-cutter cuts, brothers Bill, Rob and Paul O’Brien recognized one major truth: everyone deserves a head of hair that makes them feel good. Bill, Rob and Paul set out to create a place with an amplified atmosphere and high-end expertise. A place where caring about your appearance, was cool. A place you felt comfortable hanging out, and confident being yourself. Skip a couple tracks and fast-forward a few decades. Today, Floyd’s has grown from one barbershop to over 134 nationwide.
Company Milestones
1999
1999 Floyd’s 99 Barbershop is born. Hence the 99.
2001
Original Denver location begins offering the Floyd’s Signature Experience.
2005
Continued demand drives our expansion into California with a new Santa Monica location.
2006
First franchise location opens in Dallas, Texas.
2007
Floyd’s Radio launches custom curated radio station in all shops.
2009
1 million cuts given—and increasing exponentially.
2012
Floyd’s partners with JDRF to help find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.
2014
The Floyd’s Barber Bus hits the road.
2014
Our first branded product line, Floyd’s Grooming launches—available exclusively from Floyd’s
2015
Over 1,000 employees are now part of the Floyd’s family.
2017
Floyd’s reaches 99 locations.
2019
The Floyd’s 99 Foundation is established.
