Trend Look 2024
Time to think about your hair again! Oh, wait, you thought you were in a safe spot and things were on cruise control? Fair enough, but that can get old, so let’s talk about a few trends that we have seen for various lengths and textures. A change doesn’t have to be dramatic to have impact, but we definitely have seen some looks that are getting people noticed! Our barbers and stylists have seen it all and are helping to push things forward. Always start with a consultation first to see what your options are, but now more than ever, you have plenty of great looks that you can achieve. Wherever you are on your hair journey, it’s time to think about what is next.
Here are a few options that been high on the trend list this year!
Time To Lighten Your Load
A new look is one haircut away! Check out this amazing before and after look done by Amber Livingston in the Safety Harbor, Floyd’s shop. Her client needed a big change and she delivered! She pulled him into a current trend that continues to gain steam. She used clippers on the bottom half of the look to taper him down cleanly on the hairline. Meanwhile, the top length pushes forward and has separation to show off the style. Floyd’s Styling Cream was used to give him a natural looking hold that he doesn’t have to mess with.
Mid-Length is an option too!
Want to take things a little further without your barber’s clippers exposing your hairline that hasn’t seen the sun in ages? Try a scissor cut that can take things short while leaving some lived-in length. This will allow hair to brush over your ear and neckline and control the weight in just the right areas.
A Trend With Multiple Lives
The mullet continues to reinvent itself. No, it is not the mullet from the 80’s. That old mudflap fell off long ago. Instead, you can mix things up and show clipper faded sides that transition to messy texture on top. Meanwhile the back can flow as long as you want. There are so many amazing variations to the mullet ranging from a shorter “European” mullet that just grazes over the collar with a clipper over comb length on the sides to a longer version that flows onto the shoulder and can either stand up on top or push to the side. Here is a great version from Floyd’s stylist, Courtney Grimmet, in our Round Rock shop in Austin, TX. The flow on this is outstanding!

Ready to Go Shorter With a Twist
A short haircut will always keep you looking fresh. But what if you want some length on top, as well as some amazing clipper work down below? We have seen some fresh new takes on this including this rad look from Angel, at the Winter Park, Orlando shop. Check out the length on top that transitions into killer design work underneath. The design work transitions into the fade, as well as a shorter length on the back neckline. Color on top draws attention to the length!
Texture and Curl
While football season won’t return until the Fall, we are still thinking about the amazing cut that Patrick Mahomes was hiding under his helmet. Magic Mahomes won the big game last year and his amazing hair took home the MVP trophy. Mahomes continues to influence guys young and old with his amazing curls. The key to his signature hair is the shape. His faded-up sides allow for his curls to take over and push up, and out. We have seen more men embracing their texture and this type of shape. It allows you to tighten up the sides to have a clean look while letting the top grow. Many guys are taking this shape a step further and incorporating a “V” shaped mohawk on the hairline. Ask your stylist or barber to throw in a burst fade over the ears for an even stronger variation.
